France Packaging Compliance and Gelato
France requires companies placing packaging on the French market to register with an approved eco-organization, such as CITEO, and to report packaging volumes annually. Gelato ensures its operations align with these regulations by registering with CITEO and fulfilling all reporting and fee obligations for packaging placed on the French market through our platform.
This covers all orders placed through our platform and shipped to France.
Using Gelato’s CITEO Number
If your products are produced, packaged, and shipped by Gelato, you can use our CITEO number.
Gelato’s CITEO registration number (UID): FR458419_01PVHO
The company details are: Gelato ASA, Dronning Eufemias gate 8, 0191 Oslo.
If you use other dropshipping, print-on-demand, or fulfillment partners, or handle packaging and shipping yourself, you must ensure your own compliance with French packaging regulations. Gelato’s CITEO number cannot be used in such cases.
Amazon France Marketplace Requirements
For Amazon France sellers:
You must provide your CITEO UIN (Unique Identification Number) to Amazon
If you fail to provide a valid UIN, Amazon may automatically enroll you in their "Pay on Behalf" service for certain product categories
Amazon handles compliance for secondary packaging if you use FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon)
