[GCP] Enabling Multi-Supplier Fallback Logic

Written by Julia Gołębiowska

GelatoConnect Procurement integrates with various suppliers to provide live inventory levels. To ensure your orders are fulfilled even when your default supplier is out of stock, you can enable multi-supplier fallback logic. This automatically redirects orders to a secondary supplier if the primary one is unavailable.

Setting Up Global Fallback Logic (Category Level)

You can apply fallback rules for an entire category of products, such as apparel.

  1. Access Work Settings: Go to the top right menu and select "Work Settings".

  2. Add Replenishment Rule: In the Procurement section, locate "Replenishment rules" and click to add a new rule.

  3. Select Category and Suppliers: Choose the category (e.g., Apparel) and select your suppliers in order of priority (1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice).

  4. Create Rule: Click "Create rule" to apply this logic to all SKUs within that category.

Setting Up Individual Fallback Logic (SKU Level)

You can also override category rules for specific SKUs.

  1. Select the SKU: Find the specific SKU in your inventory list.

  2. Open Supplier Options: Click the options menu and select "Select Default Supplier".

  3. Define Priority: Set your preferred default supplier and fallback options specifically for this item.

Price-Based Supplier Selection

You can enable price-based supplier selection to prioritize the supplier with the lowest cost.

  • Include Default: Your primary supplier is included in the price comparison, and the order goes to whoever has the minimal cost.

  • Exclude Default: The system will only look for alternative suppliers (2nd or 3rd choice) if the first supplier is out of stock.
