Keeping your inventory data accurate is essential for efficient operations. This guide explains how to manually update the stock quantity of a specific SKU and how to transfer inventory between different storage locations within GelatoConnect.
Manually Updating Stock Quantity
If you need to adjust the number of items you have in stock for a specific SKU, you can do so directly from the inventory list.
Select the SKU: Locate the SKU you wish to update in your inventory list.
Access Stock Options: Click on the options menu for that SKU and select "Change stock quantity".
Review Current Stock: The system will display the current quantity available in all your different locations (e.g., assigned locations vs. unassigned).
Enter New Quantity: Input the new total stock quantity for the specific location you are updating.
Select a Reason (Optional): Choose a reason for the update, such as "Stocktake," "Initial setup," or "Other." While not mandatory, adding a reason ensures your SKU activity logs are accurate, showing who made the change and why.
Confirm Update: Click "Update stock" to finalize the change. The system will immediately update the quantity for that location.
Transferring Inventory Between Locations
If you have physically moved stock from one location to another (e.g., from a receiving area to a specific shelf), you must record this transfer in the system to maintain accurate location data.
Select the SKU: Select the SKU you are moving.
Open Transfer Menu: Go to the options menu and click on "Transfer Inventory".
View Source Stock: You will see a breakdown of how much stock is currently held in each location.
Set Destination and Quantity: Select the destination location (e.g., Rack 1, Shelf 1) and enter the quantity you are transferring. For example, if you have 20 units in the source location and want to move 5, enter "5".
Complete Transfer: Click "Transfer." The system will deduct the quantity from the source location and add it to the destination location.
