When a new store is created in Store Link Web to Print, a default Gelato domain is automatically generated for your storefront. This domain can be used straight away to access your store. For example: http://marketingprintinghub-de-gcsb.mis-store-storefront.gelato.tech/
However, many customers prefer to use their own branded domain to provide a more professional experience for their end users. This guide explains how to set that up.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
An active Store Link Web to Print store
Access to your domain name provider's DNS management panel (e.g. GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.)
Your store's default Gelato domain URL
Step 1: Locate Your Default Gelato Domain
Your store's default domain is assigned when the store is created. It follows this format:
You can find this URL by navigating to your store within the Storefronts admin panel. Keep this URL handy — you'll need it in the next step.
Step 2: Add a CNAME Record in Your Domain Provider
Log in to your domain name provider's DNS management panel and add a new CNAME record with the following settings:
Field | Value |
Type | CNAME Record |
Host |
|
Value |
|
TTL | Automatic |
Note: The Host field should be set to www if you want your store accessible at www.yourdomain.com. If you'd like to use a subdomain such as print.yourdomain.com, set the Host to print instead.
Step 3: Wait for DNS Propagation
DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to propagate fully, depending on your domain provider. In most cases, the change will take effect within a few hours.
Step 4: Verify Your Custom Domain
Once propagation is complete, visit your custom domain (e.g. www.yourdomain.com) in a web browser. You should see your Store Link Web to Print storefront load with the same content as the default Gelato domain.
Troubleshooting
Store not loading on your custom domain? Double-check that the CNAME record value matches your Gelato domain exactly, and allow up to 48 hours for DNS propagation.
"DNS not found" error? Verify that you've saved the CNAME record in your domain provider's panel and that there are no typos in the Host or Value fields.
Need to use a root domain (e.g.
yourdomain.comwithoutwww)? Most domain providers do not support CNAME records on root domains. In this case, consider setting up a redirect from your root domain towww.yourdomain.com, or check if your provider offers ALIAS or ANAME records as an alternative.
